ENKLARE - CASE

People often say 'fix it in post,' meaning they’ll solve problems later.
But with the Enklare project, we had to plan ahead and 'fix it in pre' (previsualization).

We knew that building our own set, where we could pick all the colors and decorations, would make the film better, but it was expensive. The cheaper option was to rent an office, but that limits what you can do. The challenge was figuring out how to build our own set without spending too much money.

Working closely with set designer Tobias Allansson, we decided that if we left out the ceiling and side walls, we could stay within our budget. But could we tell a story that didn’t feel limited?

So, I made a 3D model to test different camera angles and movements. After trying several versions, we finally created something that didn’t limit what viewers could see and was still exciting and visually interesting to look at.

3D Construction Planning (Previsualization):
What is the least amount of materials we need, and can afford, to build a set that still tells the story well? We found that by leaving out the sidewalls and ceiling, we could build the set we wanted and still stay creative.

Finding the Angles:
The challenge was to tell a story without showing the sidewalls or ceiling so we could stay within our budget. This exact film was approved by the client and agency during the Pre-Production Meeting (PPM).

Set Construction:
We built the set without sidewalls and a ceiling, just like we planned in the 3D model, hoping it would turn out great.

Final result:
Here is a splitscreen to show both the 3D model we made and the final version that the client approved during the Pre-Production Meeting (PPM). They look very similar!
